PLATFORM / 07 / EDGE HARDWARE

Custom hardware for the
points your SCADA forgot.

Transformer temperature control with closed-loop fan validation, MID-class revenue meters on every output, and configurable I/O nodes you can drop anywhere on the plant. Built in-house, factory-paired with the DYNVOLT edge stack.

MODULE 01 / TRAFO THERMAL CONTROL

Keep your transformer inside the curve.

Six PT100 channels read top-oil and winding temps direct from the transformer. Hysteresis-bounded fan staging keeps oil between setpoint and ceiling without short-cycling. Every command is logged, every fan is verified.

  • 4-stage fan banks — independent SSR outputs, programmable thresholds per stage.
  • Oil-temp + winding-temp logic — IEC 60076-2 thermal model runs on-device.
  • Trip relay on overshoot — fail-safe interlock if comms with the edge node drop.
  • Logic survives comms loss — every threshold, hysteresis band, and interlock is held locally. The controller keeps enforcing the rules on its own and replays the event log when the link comes back.

MODULE 02 / FAN VALIDATION

"On" is not a status. Working is.

A fan can be powered and still dead. We don't measure RPM — we measure whether the fan is actually doing work. An independent flow/current sensor on each bank verifies the unit is moving air. The instant command state and physical reality disagree, the controller raises a critical alarm.

MODULE 03 / REVENUE METERING

Custom power meters on every output that matters.

MID-approved, three-phase, factory-calibrated. Drop them on inverter outputs, AC combiners, transformer LV/HV sides, station service, or aux loads — anywhere you need billable accuracy without waiting for the utility meter.

DV-MTR-3P-630
3-phase output meter

For inverter and transformer outputs up to 630A via split-core CTs. Reads true RMS, kWh import/export, kvarh, frequency, harmonics to the 31st.

MODULE 04 / CONFIG I/O NODE

Drop a node anywhere you need a signal.

12 channels, software-configurable as digital input, digital output, 4–20mA analog input, PT100/PT1000 RTD, or pulse counter. PoE-powered, IP66, hot-pluggable. Auto-discovered by the edge node — no commissioning script.

  • Mix & match per channel — change a pin from RTD to 4–20mA from the dashboard.
  • Autonomous on comms loss — control logic, setpoints, and interlocks run locally on the node. It enforces the rules and self-maintains until the link returns, then replays buffered telemetry.
  • Edge-cached buffering — 72 hours of telemetry retained locally if the link to control room drops.

Hardware that talks to your stack.

Every DYNVOLT edge device feeds the same time-series schema as our SCADA — so a PT100 reading and an inverter MPPT reading land in the same query, with the same timestamp.

FAQ

Edge hardware — frequently asked

Can't find what you're looking for? Talk to our team →

Do I have to buy DYNVOLT hardware?
No. The platform runs on any Linux edge gateway. Our hardware exists for cases where the plant needs purpose-built control — trafo thermal management, fan validation, or revenue-class metering.
What certifications do the meters carry?
MID Class 0.5S for revenue meters, Class 1.0 (Cl. B) for aux units. CE, UKCA, and FCC Class B on every device.
How does fan validation work without RPM sensors?
A flow / current-draw sensor on each fan bank confirms the unit is moving air. The instant command state and physical reality disagree, the controller raises a critical alarm.
What happens on comms loss?
Every threshold, hysteresis band, and interlock is held locally. The controller keeps enforcing the rules autonomously and replays buffered events when the link returns.
What is the operating range?
IP66, -40 to +75°C. Designed for rooftop trafo cabinets without active cooling.
